Childhood Dream

 By Earl John Y. Sapno

There was a man named Robert and he was at the military. Robert was born in Philippines and he immigrated to The United States. This story is about his dream since he was a child, to be a soldier. Robert went through struggles, a lot of training and still had fun with his teammates .His struggles were getting promoted even though he was a good, expert and qualifying soldier, he felt like there was discrimination against his race. He enjoyed learning how to shoot and use all kind of weapons from the training. He learned most of all from teamwork, discipline, courage and to be a good soldier. He had a lot of close friends in his squad and company and he meet them while doing his trainings. He did not have any problems with anyone, to keep cool with everyone; he had to be friendly yet tough. It was special for him because he wanted to prove himself and make his dream come true to be a soldier. He was in the military for three years, but he never regretted that he joined the army. He was really glad to become a soldier because this was his childhood dream. He had fun in the army because he could travel to a lot of places like Korea, Kentucky, Hawaii, Denver, and Texas. A good benefit that military gave him is helping him to save money to buy his house. He said it was a fun adventure and he is glad that he joined. Now he has a family, a new job and he lived his dream, to be a soldier.
