Selene's Story

Selene came to the United States on June 12, 2008. When she came to the United States she came with her brother Mauricio Castillo. When she left Mexico they confused them and they treated them badly. Also they call the immigration of Tijuana where they supposed to arrive they just call to say that there were going two youth. Her experience was that she the way that her brother Mauricio was and in that experienced  she see how much she loved him and how much Mauricio loved her. When they were at the Ms, house they were just waiting for them to take them out of the house to pass the border. The day that they get out that same day we pass the border.

 She arrived in Los Angeles on June 21, 2008. The day that she arrived in San Francisco she was happy because she was with her mom and his dad after three years. After two day that they were here it was Mauricio’s birth day. Her family was happy because they celebrated her brothers birthday with all the family and some friends. And also after three years she saw her brother Luis. And on July 21 it was her birthday her family was proud of her.

Then after three months she started to study in her new school, Everet Middle School. She studied two years in that school, where she met Katherine Hernandez. They studied together and when she graduated she continued to study and she became Blanca’s friend,  and then they went to study in San Francisco International High School. She was a little bit sad because at her quinceñera her grandmother and her grandfather weren’t with her.
