Claudia’s Life

          This story is about Claudia Flores. In Honduras Claudia’s life was very happy and very ordinary. She lived with her family; her grandmother, uncles, aunts, brothers and cousins.

          Denis Reyes is father of Claudia’s children. She met him because she took a course of cosmetology and he worked at the place where she studied. Denis changed Claudia’s life completely. The relationship between them was good with fights like any couple but always good. She always remembers when she found out about she was pregnant. It was something surprising; she was very happy because it was something she wanted. She wanted a baby and a family. Also she remembers when she saw her baby for the first time in her life. She was really very scared because she could not see the eyes of her daughter, but when she saw the littler girl it was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen, the littler girl was chubby and very capricious.

          Now she has grown but she is still her baby, her daughter, her pride, her everything and her “piñungo”.

          Claudia decided to come to United States because the situation in her country was very difficult. It was very poor and she had to give food to her children. The decision was difficult because she was afraid because she didn’t know that could happen on the way to United States.

          The trip was expensive, difficult, long and very dangerous. When she arrived to unite states, she was very scared because she didn’t know anybody and didn’t know English. When she arrived her goals were: learn the language, working hard as possible, and bringing her children here. Now she lives with her children here, she works and although she doesn’t know the language well, she learned a lot of English in those years. She is proud of her children and she lives happily.
