Far Away

By Daniel Hernandez

 Far Away!!

In the beautiful country of Tarlac Manila Philippines, there's a girl named it Rexanne. She grew up with a beautiful culture that all her family have been doing for many years.
All her childhood she grew up doing all her traditions, festivals that she will will keep doing with her family and friends. One thing that she likes the most is when they celebrate their culture, they go to church to pray and even though its not a Holiday they still go every Sunday in the morning by themselves or with other relatives. When an occasion comes the Filipinos celebrate it with some delicious food like lechon, adobo, sinigang and tinola, those kind of food are some traditions of them that they like the most.
After all his childhood, she was in the Philippines but after 15 years living there her father decided to bring her to the United States to have a better future and a good career for her and her brother. Even though she didn't like that idea, she came in this new country already knowing English. It was hard to adapt in a new city, new life with people that she doesn't know to a new start for her. It was difficult to leave so far her family and all her relatives that it was with her including her culture. Everyday, she thinks about her country and all the amazing things that that she did everyday. The most that she miss from there, specially the fiestas, the food that are seller by the vendors on the streets that make her so happy and proud of her culture. She fells that her country and the United States are very different in everything. One way that both are different is that the USA government help more the poor people or the homeless people that do not have nothing, like in the Philippines the government do not help the people and they are starving because they don't have food to eat, no money... today "Rexy" she just wants to go visit family, friends and her mom in the Philippines she doesn't want to stay there permanently but she likes the U.S. more, she prefers this country.!
As the people say there's no place like your real home. THE END
