Franklin Life
By: Irene Medina

Franklin Bladimir was born on January 6, 1970. He was born into a poor and very large family. His parents died when he was very young, but they left him six very beautiful brothers and sisters.
Franklin always wanted to be a good person and help everybody, in particular his brothers and sisters.
Franklin was admitted to the military school on January fifth 1989 when he was only 19 years old. At that time, El Salvador was still at war and specifically on 11 November 1989. The FMLN (Farabundo Marti for National Liberation) led what they called “Final Offensive” his first year as a cadet in military school so he had no direct involvement but spent many moments of intensity as having many bullets and helping to protect the military school.
He decided to enter the army because he felt no vocation for anything else and so he wanted to be a good soldier like his father was.
He says that the military is very difficult because you will serve the country when needed, and sacrifice yourself. You’re always there for yourself and your family, and that’s tough because there are times that you want to be with your family but can’t because you have to help others. But thanks to his efforts he went to many countries like USA, Spain, France, Italy, Israel, Morocco, South Africa, and Lebanon. And in each country he has many friends.
Now he is 41 years old and has 23 years of serving El Salvador. He already reached the rank of lieutenant Colonel and is proud of belonging to El Salvador military.
