New Life in New Country

By: Ford Sunga

Edson is from Mexico. He immigrated to U.S when he was 13 years old. He immigrated because he wants to have better life and finish college. When he was in Mexico he thought that only white people lived here in U.S. He traveled with his mother and sister. When he was going to U.S he didn’t have any Documents. He knew that visas are needed if you’re going to another country. He said Hhhhhhhhit was hard to travel to the U.S. if you are walking. He was tired because he walked for 12 hours. But when he knew that they were near in U.S. the tired feeling was gone, and he felt Successful and excited. He felt that his goal was finished. But many more things will happen to him and he will stay strong to help his family. He wanted to come to the U.S because he wants to do a lot of things and experience having a job and new friends that can protect him and help him with any problems. His first month here in U.S he didn’t have friends and he was shy to talk to other people. The school he went to in Mexico was so different than his school in the U.S where all of his classmates are immigrants. Now he can communicate with other people, can talk English and he has a lot of friends.
